1929    _ born in New Zealand

1960    _ got his first job in Australia

1965    _  he was head of the Eye Department at a Sydney hospital

1970     _  he helped launch a national program to attack eye disease in Aboriginal Australians

1980     _ travelling all over the world to help set up eye health programs in developing countries

1989    _  dying of cancer

1993    _ he passed away
